What is Recycled TPE?
Recycled Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) are a type of material that combines the properties of rubber and plastic and is made by melting down old plastic products and mixing them with other materials to create a new, flexible material. This new material can be used to make things like wristbands, shoe soles, cables, and even playground surfaces.
The “thermoplastic” part of the name means that it can be melted down and reshaped when it’s heated up, in the same way, you can melt and reshape a crayon by heating it up with a hair dryer. And “elastomers” means that it’s flexible and can stretch and bend without breaking.

Advantages of Recycled TPE vs. Virgin TPE
Reduce waste
Recycling TPEs reduces waste and helps protect the environment by reducing the amount of plastic up in landfills or the ocean
Impact
Recycled TPE saves more than 60% of greenhouse gas emissions, -often measured in carbon dioxide (CO2)- compared to the products manufactured from virgin TPE
Certified
These recycled TPE products have The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) which verifies the recycled material and tracks it from the source to the final product.
